9.20.040 Inventory searches.

Inventory searches shall be performed of all arrestees or detainees promptly after an arrestee or detainee enters the “jail.” (Ord. 121 § 1, 1997)

9.20.050 Storage of property.

Property inventoried as a result of the search shall be stored securely in a locker, inside the jail’s property room. All weapons, contraband, and/or materials determined by the jail to be dangerous shall be stored in the sheriff’s evidence room until lawful disposition is made. (Ord. 121 § 2, 1997)

9.20.060 Vehicle searches.

Sheriff’s office officials are authorized to perform inventory searches of vehicles that are in its custody or possession. (Ord. 121 § 3, 1997)

9.20.070 Additional rules authorized.

The sheriff is authorized to establish additional rules pertaining to inventories authorized by this article and the disposition of property collected during the inventories. (Ord. 121 § 4, 1997)

9.20.080 Storage of property.

Property inventoried as a result of the search shall be stored securely. All weapons, contraband, and/or materials determined to be dangerous by the “jail” or the sheriff’s office, as the case may be, shall be stored in the sheriff’s evidence room until lawful disposition is made.
