1.04.010 General Criminal Offense Provision.

A violation of this Code for which a criminal penalty is not specifically provided for shall be considered a violation of BC 5.08.800, subsection A, unless a substantially similar offense is described by State law, then the penalty shall be equal to that provided by State law. 1.04.020 Municipal Court Proceedings.

Except as otherwise provided in this Code or in a provision of state law directly applicable to municipal courts, proceedings of the Beaverton Municipal Court shall conform to general laws of this state governing justices of the peace and justice courts. A defendant charged with an offense in the Beaverton Municipal Court does not have a right to have the matter transferred to the circuit court. [BC 1.04.020, added by Ordinance No. 4108, 5/8/00]
