5.04.010 Injury to Library Materials.

No person shall write upon, injure, deface, tear or destroy library materials belonging to the City Library. [BC 5.04.010, amended by Ordinance No. 3872, 11/1/93]

5.04.015 Detention of Library Materials.

No person shall knowingly detain any library materials belonging to the City Library for more than 30 days after notice in writing from the librarian, given after the expiration of time which by library regulations such materials may be kept. The notice shall bear upon its face a copy of this section and BC 5.04.020.

5.04.020 Fine.

A violation of BC 5.04.010 through 5.04.015 is a Class 2 Civil Infraction, to be processed in accordance with the procedure provided by in BC 2.10.010 through 2.10.050. However, the fine imposed shall not be more than $100.00. A finding that the infraction has been committed and the payment of the fine shall not be construed to constitute payment for library material, nor shall the person found to have committed the infraction be relieved of the obligation to return the material to the library.
