Loss Control Program

§2-501 Background and Purpose.

Borough Council of Cornwall Borough, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, realizes that it has the responsibility to provide a safe work environment for its employees and that each employee must pursue the highest standards in his or her assigned activities, all municipal employees must recognize that the well-being of persons involved and the protection of our physical resources are as important as the activity and work being performed.

§2-502 Establishment of Loss Control Program; Organization; Responsibilities; Borough Commitment.

1.    The Borough is establishing a Loss Control Program. The Borough expects its employees to respond to all planned safety efforts to perform their assigned jobs in the safest manner possible.

2.    The Borough Manager and the Borough Safety Committee will be assigned the responsibility of organizing the overall Loss Control Program and establishing loss control policy.

3.    Furthermore, each municipal supervisor will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the workers in his or her department as well as the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment in his or her area of responsibility.

4.    Each municipal employee will be responsible for his own personal safety and for the safe completion of assigned tasks.

5.    The Borough of Cornwall is committed to doing all in its power to make its Loss Control Program a success and expects all municipal employees to assist in this effort by contributing expertise and by following all established rules and procedures.
