AUTHORITIES*

171.01 Authorities.
(A) Parking Authority. Under the provisions of the Parking Authority Law, Act of June 5, 1947 (P.L. 458), as amended, the parking authority was created by Ordinance No. 2249, passed October 10, 1950. Lease and management agreements were authorized as follows:
(1) Agreement dated November 15, 1965, authorized by Ordinance No. 2623, passed November 19, 1965.
(2) Agreement dated May 15, 1967, authorized by Ordinance No. 2662, passed May 23, 1967.
(3) Agreement dated August 25, 1969, authorized by Ordinance No. 2716, passed October 14, 1969.
(B) Housing Authority. Under the provisions of the Housing Authorities Law, Act of May 28, 1937 (P.L. 955), as amended, the housing authority was created by Resolution No. 1957-25, passed October 8, 1957.
(C) Redevelopment Authority. Under the provisions of the Urban Redevelopment Law, Act of May 24, 1945 (P.L. 991), as amended, the redevelopment authority was created by resolution passed May 8, 1956.
(D) Market Authority. Under the provisions of the Municipal Authorities Law, Act of May 2, 1945 (P.L. 382), as amended, the market authority was created by Ordinance No. 2763, passed January 26, 1971.
(1) By first amendment to the Articles of Incorporation filed with the Pennsylvania Department of State on March 17, 2021, the market authority’s term of existence shall be extended from March 22, 2021, to a date not to exceed 50 years from the date of approval of the filing of said first amendment to the Articles of Incorporation.
(E) Meadville Area Recreation Authority. Under the provisions of the Municipal Authorities Act of May 2, 1945 (P.L. 382), as amended, the Meadville area recreation authority was created by Ordinance No. 2780, passed July 6, 1971, and amended by Ordinance No. 2973 of 1979, passed March 13, 1979.
(F) Meadville Area Water Authority. Under the provisions of the Municipal Authorities Act of May 2, 1945 (P.L. 382), as amended, the Meadville area water authority was created by Ordinance No. 3272, passed February 12, 1991.
(G) Meadville Area Sanitary Sewer Authority. Under the provisions of the Municipality Authorities Law, Act of May 2, 1945 (P.L. 382), as amended, the Meadville Area Sanitary Sewer Authority was created by Ordinance No. 3400, passed April 26, 1995. (Ord. 3790 § 1, 2021)
