705.01 Abandoned refrigerators to be rendered harmless.

All persons owning or possessing any icebox or refrigerator, before abandoning, discarding or discontinuing the use thereof for refrigeration or storage purposes, shall remove all latches, catches or hinges or leave the same in such condition that all doors can be opened from the inside, in such manner that persons or children cannot be trapped or locked inside. 705.99 Penalty.

Whoever violates MMC 705.01 shall be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than $100.00 and costs of prosecution for each offense, and, in default of payment thereof, shall be imprisoned for not more than 30 days. (Ord. 2343 § 2, 1953)
