PETTY CASH FUND

3.15.010 Established.

There is hereby established in the District’s Maintenance Department a “petty cash” fund to be used for unanticipated, minor purchases of supplies and material useful for carrying out the responsibilities of the Department. [Res. 2406 § 1, 2001].

3.15.020 Transfer.

Five hundred dollars are hereby appropriated to the Maintenance Department’s “petty cash” fund, and the District’s Finance Director is authorized to transfer that amount from the District’s maintenance fund into the Maintenance Department’s “petty cash” fund. [Res. 2406 § 2, 2001].

3.15.030 Additional transfers.

The Finance Director is directed to make such additional transfers from the maintenance fund into the Maintenance Department’s “petty cash” fund whenever necessary to maintain a $500.00 balance. [Res. 2406 § 3, 2001].

3.15.040 Control – Withdrawals.

The Finance Director is directed to designate in writing the position in the Maintenance Department which shall have custody and control of the Maintenance Department’s “petty cash” fund, including responsibility for accounting for disbursements from the fund. The Finance Director shall also develop written procedures governing withdrawals from the Maintenance Department “petty cash” fund, and withdrawals shall be made only according to such procedures.
