18.08.010 Title.

This title shall be known and may be cited as the city of Asotin zoning ordinance. (Ord. 84-335 § 1.03, 1984)

18.08.020 Purpose.

The intent of this title is to control land uses within the corporate limits of the city in order to guide the community’s growth in a logical and orderly manner as prescribed by the comprehensive plan for Asotin. The basic purpose of this title is to provide for conservation of public health, safety, convenience and general welfare for the city by insuring that the impacts of development are within the limits of standards established by the community. 18.08.030 Applicability.

This title, establishing zoning and land development regulations for the city, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 35A.63 RCW, laws of the state of Washington, is pursuant to the recommendation of the planning commission. As such the regulations set forth in this title shall apply to all lands within the existing and future corporate boundaries of the city. (Ord. 84-335 § 1.02, 1984)

18.08.040 Annexations.

Any uses contained within the boundaries of an annexation must comply with the provisions of this title. (Ord. 84-335 § 19.01, 1984)

18.08.050 Interpretation.

In their interpretations and application, the provisions of this title shall be held to be minimum requirements adopted for public health, safety or general welfare. Whenever the requirements of this title differ with requirements of any other lawfully adopted rules, regulations or ordinances, the most restrictive of those imposing the highest standards shall govern.
