The past, present and future existence of the police department is acknowledged and ratified. (1957 code § 1.45.010.)

2.24.020 Law enforcement officer and city police officer defined.

“Law enforcement officer” and “city police officer” cover such regular, full-time personnel of the police department who have been appointed to offices, positions or ranks of the police department which are herewith expressly created:

A. Chief of police;

B. Deputy police chief;

C. Assistant police chief;

D. Commander;

E. Captain;

F. Lieutenants;

G. Sergeants;
