3.02.010 Implementation of biennial budget.

The city of Auburn will implement a fiscal biennium budget process, with two one-year budgets, to cover fiscal period January 1, 2007, through December 31, 2008, and each two-year period thereafter. (Ord. 6003 § 1, 2006.)

3.02.020 Budget process.

Pursuant to RCW 35A.34.130, the city council hereby provides for a mid-biennial review and modification of the biennial budget. No sooner than eight months after the start of the first year of the fiscal biennium, nor later than the first regularly scheduled city council meeting in November of the first year of each biennial budget, the mayor shall submit proposed budget modifications to be effective as of January 1st of the following year. Such proposed modifications shall be filed with the city clerk and submitted to the city council. Such proposed modifications shall be public records. A public hearing on the proposed modifications shall be held at a city council meeting no later than the first Monday in December and may be continued from time to time. At such hearing, the city council may consider a proposed ordinance to adopt such modifications. (Ord. 6003 § 1, 2006.)

All references to “budget” or “annual budget” contained in this code or in the ordinances of the city of Auburn shall be interpreted as referring to the “biennial budget.” (Ord. 6003 § 1, 2006.)
