2.18.010 Office created – Appointment and removal.
There is created the office of airport supervisor, which shall be filled by the appointment of the mayor. The airport supervisor shall be subject to removal by the mayor. (Ord. 5635 § 5, 2002; Ord. 2916 § 1, 1976; 1957 code § 1.19.010.)
2.18.020 Duties.
The airport supervisor, or the supervisor’s designee, shall be responsible for carrying out policies and plans for airport development by the city and for the efficient and economical management and maintenance of the municipal airport facilities now or hereafter owned or controlled by the city. The airport supervisor or the supervisor’s designee shall adopt and enforce airport rules and regulations and exercise functional authority over all persons and agencies operating at or utilizing the municipal airport facilities. He or she shall perform and/or supervise maintenance of municipally owned airport facilities, aircraft fueling and maintenance facilities and any other facilities situated on the airport facility of the city related to the operation of the airport. The airport supervisor shall maintain effective working relationships with the airport users and lessees, regulating agencies, the general public and city officials in matters pertaining to safety and use. He or she shall perform such clerical work as may be associated with the operation of the municipal airport. In addition, he or she shall perform such further duties as the city council may from time to time designate or direct by resolution, ordinance or otherwise. The airport supervisor shall be considered a full-time employee of the city and shall have no interest, direct or indirect, in any other business activity. 2.18.030 Qualification.
The airport supervisor shall have a thorough knowledge of general aviation operations and regulations and have such additional qualifications as the city council shall prescribe. (Ord. 6320 § 2, 2010; 1957 code § 1.19.030.)
2.18.040 Compensation.
The airport supervisor shall receive a salary in such amount as the city council may from time to time establish by ordinance. (1957 code § 1.19.040.)
