SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM FOR MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES

2.40.010 City participation.

This municipality shall be a participant in the Social Security System and the benefits of old age and survivors’ insurance shall be extended to its employees and officers. (Ord. 25 (part), 1953)

2.40.020 Authorization to execute plan.

The city manager and the city clerk are authorized to execute and deliver to the Washington Department of Employment Security for its approval the plan or plans required under the provisions of Section 5 of said enabling Act, or of any other act or statute of the state of Washington, and of the Social Security Act to extend coverage to the employees and officers of this municipality, and to do all other things necessary to that end. 2.40.030 Duty of fiscal officers designated.

The proper fiscal officers are authorized to make all required payments into the contribution fund established by the enabling Act and to establish such system of payroll deductions from the salaries of employees and officers as may be necessary to their coverage under the old age and survivors’ insurance system. 2.40.040 Implementation.

The proper officials of the municipality shall do all things necessary to the continued implementation of the system. (Ord. 25 (part), 1953)

2.40.050 Effective date.

This municipality shall become a participant in the Social Security System effective as of May 1, 1953. (Ord. 25 (part), 1953)
