ARTERIAL STREET FUND

3.24.010 ESTABLISHED.

The City Treasurer is authorized and directed to establish a fund to be known as the arterial street fund for the purpose of constructing, improving, and repairing major arterials, secondary arterials, and access streets within the City. (Ord. 2451 §1, 1961)

3.24.020 APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS.

There is hereby appropriated any funds to be received from the state treasurer under the provisions of Chapter 7, Laws of 1961 Extraordinary Session, to the arterial street fund, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to place in said fund any and all money received from the state treasurer by virtue of that act of the legislature and any other funds which may be received by the City from other sources or specifically appropriated by the City. 3.24.030 WHEN WARRANTS MAY BE ISSUED.

No warrants shall be issued upon the above-described fund until a proposed project is approved by the state highway department, division of state aid, for the construction, improvement, and repair of arterial highways (previously classified and designated by the City under the provisions of RCW 35.78.010) and until the City has appropriated a sum to said fund equal to one-fourth or more of the costs of the proposed project.
