3.26.100 ESTABLISHED.

There is hereby established a fund to be called the "GIFT AND DONATION FUND" for the purpose of accepting gifts and donations on behalf of all departments of the City as authorized by RCW 35.21.100. (Ord. 4742, Amended, 12/31/2000; Ord. 4505 §2 (in part), 1995)

3.26.200 ADMINISTRATION.

The Gift and Donation Fund shall be operated as an expendable trust fund. The fund shall receive all donations, memorials, bequests and other contributions made to the City by citizens or organizations. The City Treasurer shall provide detail accounts within the fund sufficient to allow for a discreet accounting of all monies received and expended by each department of the City, together with any interest earned on unexpended balances. 3.26.300 EXPENDITURES.

The department head of each department for whom monies may be received by the fund shall be responsible for the proper expenditure of their respective departments monies, subject to the prior approval of the Mayor and the budgetary authorization of the City Council. (Ord. 4505 §2 (in part), 1995)

3.26.400 EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE DONATIONS.

In addition to BMC 3.26.300, monies received in support of the City’s Emergency Medical Service Program shall be administered by the Mayor and Fire Chief upon consultation with an advisory committee consisting of three representatives elected by the emergency medical services program employees. The Fire Chief shall address, in writing, all expenditure recommendations of the advisory committee. All monies received in support of the EMS program, together with interest earnings thereon, may be expended only for the following emergency medical service program purposes:

(a)    Capital expenditures for diagnostic, life support, medical, and rescue equipment, except for vehicle purchase unless expressly requested by a donor.

(b)    Medical supplies, including aids for responding to traumatized children.

(c)    Support of advanced emergency medical training for Fire Department staff and basic emergency aid instruction for the community, including instructor fees, materials and supplies.

(d)    For other emergency medical aid purposes recommended by the employee advisory committee and approved by the Fire Chief. (Ord. 4505 §2 (in part), 1995)
