2.12.010 Office established.

The office of the city clerk/city finance director is established. The office of the city clerk/finance director shall be an appointed office and appointments to the office shall be made by the mayor, subject to confirmation by the city council. The city clerk/finance director shall report to and serve under the direction of the mayor. (Ord. 566 § 1 (part), 1993)

2.12.026 Powers, duties and responsibilities.

The city clerk/finance director shall serve as the chief financial officer of the city and shall have all of the powers, duties and responsibilities specified in RCW Title 35A for city clerks and city treasurers, together with any other powers, duties or responsibilities which may be conferred upon city clerks, city treasurers, or city finance directors by the laws of the state of Washington or other provisions of this code or ordinances of the city as the same exist now or may hereafter be amended, together with any other city-related powers, duties or responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned by the mayor. 2.12.030 Oath required.

Prior to entering upon the performance of the duties of the office, the city clerk/finance director shall be required to take an oath for the faithful performance of his or her official duties. (Ord. 566 § 1 (part), 1993)

2.12.040 Bond required.

Prior to entering upon the performance of the duties of the office, the city clerk/finance director shall be required to furnish an official bond, to be renewed annually, conditioned upon the honest and faithful performance of his or her official duties, as required by RCW 35A.12.080. The amount of such bond shall be fifty thousand dollars. The premium on such bond shall be paid by the city. (Ord. 566 § 1 (part), 1993)
