8.12.010 Town dump—Established—Boundaries designated.

The southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 2, and the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 11, all in Township 30 North, Range Z4, E.W.M., Okanogan County, Washington, is established as the town garbage dump. (Ord. 290 § 1, 1969)

8.12.020 Dumping or trespass—Permission required.

No person, firm or corporation shall dispose of garbage, refuse or waste material at the garbage dump, or trespass thereon without the permission of the town council or one of its duly appointed representatives. (Ord. 290 § 2, 1969)

8.12.030 Dumping—Sorting required—Categories.

Any person, firm or corporation desiring to use the garbage dump shall sort all garbage, refuse and waste material into the following categories:

A. Landfill materials shall consist of all paper, cloth, perishables, household tin cans, small pieces of glass, lawn clippings, etc.;

B. Nonlandfill materials shall consist of coarse brush, lumber and tree stumps, nonflammable building materials and large metal materials. All trees and brush shall be cut to a minimum of eight feet in length. (Ord. 290 § 3, 1969)

8.12.040 Dumping—Work performance.

All garbage, refuse, and waste material shall be unloaded and piled in designated areas in a neat workmanlike manner as directed by the person in charge. (Ord. 290 § 4, 1969)

8.12.050 Dumping—Hours designated.

The garbage dump shall be used by the public only at the following times:

A. Wednesday: two p.m. until eight p.m.;

B. Saturday: nine a.m. until six p.m.;

C. Sunday: twelve noon until six p.m. (Ord. 290 § 5, 1969)

8.12.060 Charges designated.

Every person, firm or corporation using the garbage dump shall pay the town the following charges:

A. Minimum charge: fifty cents;

B. Small pickup or trader loads: one dollar;

C. Medium truck loads: two dollars fifty cents;

D. Large truck loads: five dollars. (Ord. 290 § 6, 1969)

8.12.070 Regulations and charge determination.

The town council may hereafter fix and change charges and regulations by resolution and same shall be posted at the office of the town clerk-treasurer and at the garbage dump. (Ord. 290 § 9, 1969)

8.12.080 Violation—Penalty.

Any person violating or failing to comply with any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars or six months’ imprisonment in jail or both. (Ord. 290 § 7, 1969)
