CHIEF OF POLICE

2.22.030 Hire, suspension, discharge – Authority.
2.22.010 Created.
There is created the position of chief of police whose functions shall include being the city’s chief law enforcement officer. [Ord. 555 § 2, 1983].
2.22.020 Filling of position.
The position of chief of police shall be filled as provided by Chapter 41.12 RCW and the rules and regulations of the Castle Rock civil service commission for police officers, which describe minimum qualifications and basis for appointments. [Ord. 95-12 § 2, 1995; Ord. 555 § 3, 1983].
2.22.030 Hire, suspension, discharge – Authority.
The mayor shall have the authority, with the approval of the city council, for the hiring of the person to occupy the position of chief of police and the sole authority for suspending or discharging said person. [Ord. 555 § 4, 1983].
