EXCESSIVE FORCE POLICY

7.64.010 Policy.

(1)    It is the policy of the county that excessive force by local law enforcement agencies shall not be used against individuals engaged in lawful and nonviolent civil rights demonstrations within the county boundaries.

(2)    It is the policy of the county to enforce applicable state and local laws against the physical barring of an entrance to or exit from a facility or location which is the subject of nonviolent civil rights demonstrations within its jurisdiction.

(3)    The county commissioners shall coordinate with the county sheriff to implement this section by amending applicable sheriff’s office procedures. (Res. 99-59 §§ 1—3, 5/11/99; Res. 93-144, 11/2/93).
