5.50.140 Calculation of VMT’s and SOV’s.

(A)    The CTR plan shall set forth methods for calculating the reduction of VMT’s and SOV’s of affected employees.

(B)    The following will be used in measuring VMT’s.

(1)    Single-occupant vehicle trips count as one trip;

(2)    Carpool trips count as the inverse of the number of occupants in the vehicle (i.e., two (2) person carpool counts as one-half (1/2) trip; three (3) person carpool counts as one-third (1/3) trip; four (4) person carpool counts as one-fourth (1/4) trip; five (5) person carpool counts as one-fifth (1/5) trip; six (6) person carpool counts as one-sixth (1/6) trip;

(3)    Vanpools of seven (7) or more occupants and transit (bus and bike-on ferry or walk-on ferry) count as zero (0) vehicle trips;

(4)    Telecommuting, alternative work schedules (excluding flex-time), bicycling, and walking count as zero (0) vehicle trips plus a twenty percent (20%) credit—each commute trip eliminated or using nonmotorized modes is counted as 1.2 trips eliminated.
