15.12.503.6 Amendment of Section 503.6.

Section 503.6 of the International Fire Code shall be amended to read as follows:

503.6 Security gates. The installation of security gates across a fire apparatus access road shall be approved by the fire chief. Where security gates are installed, they shall have an approved means of emergency operation. The security gates and the emergency operation shall be maintained and operational at all times. Where security key boxes are required, they shall be of a type and a common key as approved by the Fire Marshall. Such boxes shall be located immediately adjacent to the gate in a location that is readily visible and accessible from either side of the gate.
