2.44.010 Formation—Members—Compensation—Meetings—Chairman—Terms.

The board of equalization shall be formed, consisting of three (3) members and up to four (4) alternates, to be nominated by the county council and county manager and appointed by the council. The members of the board shall receive a per diem amount as set by the county council for each day of actual attendance at the meeting of the board of equalization convened in accordance with RCW 84.48.010. Said members shall select a chairman who shall conduct the business of said board at a location designated by the county manager. The term for each appointed member shall be for three (3) years, or until their successors are appointed; provided, however, each appointed member may be removed by a majority vote of the council and they shall carry out the duties and functions of the offices provided by law.
