2.12.010 Office created—Appointment.
There is created the office of building inspector of the city. The building inspector shall be appointed by the mayor and shall hold office at the pleasure of the mayor. (Ord. 277 § 1, 1970: Ord. 156 § 1, 1954).
2.12.020 Duties.
The building inspector shall serve as zoning officer of the city and shall discharge all duties provided by ordinance to be performed by the zoning officer. In addition the building inspector shall make inspections of buildings during construction and shall require that all buildings shall conform to the building ordinances of the city and to the plans and specifications upon which the building permit therefor was issued. (Ord. 156 § 2, 1954).
2.12.030 Compensation.
The building inspector shall receive such compensation as the city council provides by resolution. (Ord. 277 § 2, 1970: Ord. 156 § 3, 1954).
2.12.040 Failure to comply with regulations.
Any person refusing to comply with the lawful requirements of the building inspector or constructing any building in violation of the zoning or building ordinances or constructing a building materially different from the plans and specifications upon which the building permit was issued is guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to punishment as provided in Section 1.04.010. (Ord. 156 § 4, 1954).
