2.18.010 Created.
There is created a board of airport commissioners consisting of five members to be appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the city council. (Ord. 340 § 1, 1973).
2.18.020 Appointment—Terms.
The mayor shall appoint, with the approval of the city council, five airport commissioners, one of whom shall be a duly elected or acting city councilman, and fix and designate their terms of office. The term of the councilman shall coincide with his council term of office and the other four members shall be appointed for initial terms of one, two, three and four years, respectively. Subsequent appointments or reappointments shall be for a period of six years, in such a manner that no two terms of the non- councilman members expire in the same year. The airport commissioners shall serve for the term designated or until their successor is appointed and qualified. (Ord. 340 § 2, 1973).
2.18.030 Compensation.
No airport commissioner shall receive any compensation for his services, but he may be reimbursed for actual out-of-pocket expenses as approved by the city council. (Ord. 340 § 3, 1973).
2.18.040 Duties.
It shall be the duty of the airport commission to plan the use, development, improvement, and operation of all airport facilities for the city and to make recommendations and give advice to the city council. The airport commission shall prepare rules and regulations for the operation of the airport facilities and promulgate and publish them with the consent of the city council. (Ord. 340 § 4, 1973).
