1.24.010 Purpose.

This chapter sets forth the rules of procedure governing the time, place and record keeping for conduct of the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners meetings and hearings. [Res. 15-118 § 1, 12-15-15; Res. 03-037, 3-25-03.]

1.24.020 Definitions.

“Board of Commissioners” means the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners.

“Chair” means the Chairperson of the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners.

“Member” means any duly elected or appointed Cowlitz County Commissioner.

“Quorum” constitutes a majority of the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners.

“Vice Chair” means the Vice Chairperson of the Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners. [Res. 03-037, 3-25-03.]

1.24.030 Official public meeting place.

All regular meetings of the Board of County Commissioners shall be held in the county seat of Kelso, Washington, at the county administration building located at 207 4th Avenue North, Kelso, WA, 98626. If the administration building is inaccessible, a new location will be posted legally and timely by the Clerk of the Board. [Res. 19-007, 1-29-19; Res. 15-118 § 2, 12-15-15.]

1.24.060 Meeting day and time and procedures.

A. The day and hour of regular meetings of the Board of Commissioners (Board) shall be set forth and adopted in its Rules of Practice, on file with the Clerk of the Board and as published in the weekly Board’s agenda posted on the Cowlitz County website.

B. The Board may adopt and publish such other administrative policies and procedures which it deems necessary to establish clear and consistent processes and formats for submission of business to the Board, and to facilitate public notice and orderly public participation in Board deliberations and actions.
