2.04.010 Powers – Duties.

The powers and duties of the city manager, appointed by the city council during such period that the council-manager plan of government is in effect in the city, shall be coextensive with those powers and duties prescribed by the laws of the state now in force or as may be subsequently amended. [Ord. 1 § 1, 1959.]

2.04.020 Full time to be devoted to city – Oath – Bond.

Unless express authority to the contrary is hereafter granted by resolution of the city council, the city manager shall devote his full time to the affairs of the city and before undertaking the duties of such office, the city manager shall take an official oath in support of the government of the United States and laws of the state and ordinances of the city, and the faithful performance of his duties, and shall execute a bond in favor of the city in the sum of $2,500. 2.04.030 Compensation.

The city manager shall receive such compensation as may be fixed by the city council. [Ord. 688 § 1, 1987: Ord. 306 § 1, 1972.]

2.04.040 Assistant’s compensation – Duties. Repealed by Ord. 1085. [Ord. 1 § 4, 1959.]

2.04.050 City manager performance evaluation.

Each year between July 1st and November 1st a committee of three councilmembers, appointed by the mayor, shall meet with the city manager to conduct a performance evaluation. Criteria for such evaluation will be established by the council committee and the city manager to analyze the relationship of the city manager with the council and the effectiveness of this relationship in implementing the goals of the city. A written report of the result of such conference shall be given to the entire city council within 45 days of the evaluation. [Ord. 823 § 1, 1989: Ord. 733 § 1, 1988.]
