OFFICIAL BONDS

2.06.010 Bond required.
A. Before performing any official duties, the mayor, the municipal court judge, the city clerk, the city treasurer/finance director, the accounting technician, the chief of police, and the information systems manager must furnish an official bond in the penal sum of $75,000, conditioned for the honest and faithful performance of his or her duties as required by the laws of the state and the ordinances of the city. The city pays the premiums for said bonds. In lieu of individual fidelity bonds, the city may purchase a blanket fidelity bond in amounts not less than those provided for above.
B. The city may obtain a blanket bond in the sum of $75,000 for such other city officials, officers, or employees whom the city council may, by motion or by appropriation, from time to time authorize.
C. The bonds identified in this section are renewed annually. (Ord. 20-10 § 4, 2020; Ord. 11-05 § 1, 2011)
