15.40.010 Adoption.

The following codes, as amended, added to, or excepted in this chapter, are adopted by reference thereto and by this reference fully incorporated herein, and shall be applicable within the city of Edgewood:

A. Prior to April 1, 2024, the 2020 Edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC), published by the National Fire Protection Association, as adopted by the Department of Labor and Industries in Chapter 296-46B WAC and Chapter 19.28 RCW.

B. April 1, 2024, or after, the 2023 Edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC), published by the National Fire Protection Association, as adopted by the Department of Labor and Industries in Chapter 296-46B WAC and Chapter 19.28 RCW. (Ord. 24-660 § 1 (Exh. A)).

15.40.020 Enforcement.

Pursuant to Chapters 19.28 and 19.29 RCW, the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries is responsible for enforcement of Chapters 19.28 and 19.29 RCW, Chapter 296-46B WAC, and any other duly adopted rules or regulations. All forms and notices required for the administration of the code and rules and regulations shall be furnished by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. (Ord. 24-660 § 1 (Exh. A)).

15.40.030 Meter identification.

Where more than one electric meter is used on a building, all meters must be identified by permanently indicating the apartment, occupancy or area served by each meter. (Ord. 24-660 § 1 (Exh. A)).

15.40.040 Removal of unused conductors.

Electrical conductors not in use shall be removed unless otherwise approved by the building official. (Ord. 24-660 § 1 (Exh. A)).

15.40.050 Authority to disconnect electrical utility.

The code official and/or an authorized representative of the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries shall have the authority to disconnect an electrical system to a building, structure, or equipment in case of emergency where such disconnection is necessary to eliminate an immediate hazard to life or property, or in case of an illegal service connection.
