1.24.040 Membership.
The fire department of the city of Ellensburg shall be comprised of not less than 10 men fully paid, including one chief, one fire marshal, two captains and six or more firemen. In addition to the fully paid membership, there shall be employed a volunteer membership of not less than 15 men nor more than 25 men. [Ord. 2146 § 1, 1951.]
1.24.080 Use of fire apparatus outside city – Authorized.
The city manager of the city of Ellensburg, acting by and through the chief of the fire department, is hereby authorized to dispatch and use the fire apparatus and equipment of the city of Ellensburg, together with the fire department personnel operating the same, outside of the corporate limits of the city of Ellensburg for the purpose of rendering assistance in the event of a threatening conflagration or other dire emergency, to communities and/or fire districts with whom mutual aid agreements have been made in accordance with ECC 1.24.120. Under no circumstances shall such fire apparatus and equipment be dispatched outside of the city of Ellensburg to such an extent as to deplete existing available equipment or leave the city of Ellensburg without adequate fire protection. 1.24.120 Use of fire apparatus outside city – Mutual aid agreements.
The mayor and the city clerk of the city of Ellensburg are hereby authorized and directed to execute on the behalf of the city of Ellensburg such mutual aid agreements with communities and fire districts maintaining and operating fire apparatus and equipment, as may be necessary or desirable for the mutual protection of that community or district and the city of Ellensburg.
