1.30.040 City council and mayor.
A. Each incumbent member of the city council shall receive as compensation for attending meetings the sum of $62.50 per meeting for not more than two council meetings each month until expiration of the term of each such city council member, as heretofore provided by existing city ordinance.
B. Each person taking office as a member of the Ellensburg city council hereafter shall, from and after the commencement of the regular term of such council member position, receive as compensation $250.00 per month; provided, however, that the compensation change provided for herein shall not be construed to be applicable to any term now being served by any incumbent member of the city council.
C. In addition to his or her compensation as a member of the Ellensburg city council, the mayor shall receive compensation of $250.00 per month. [Ord. 3992 § 1, 1995; Ord. 3178 § 1, 1978; Ord. 2975 § 1, 1973; Ord. 2794 § 1, 1969; Ord. 2538 § 1, 1963.]
1.30.640 Officers – Oath and bond.
Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, each of the following city officers shall take an oath of office and execute and file with the city clerk an official bond, conditioned for the faithful performance of duty, in penal sums as follows:

1.30.660 Fire battalion chief – Salary.
The position classification termed “battalion chief” shall be set as pay range 36 and the maximum salary for the classification shall be the E step in range 36 when and if any position in the classification is filled. [Ord. 2633 § 2, 1966.]
