POLICE RESERVE OFFICER PENSIONS

1.70.050 Participation of reserve law enforcement officers in pension plan.
As authorized by Chapter 41.24 RCW, qualifying (police) reserve officers, as that term is defined by RCW 41.24.010, are hereby authorized to enroll or participate in the State Volunteer Fire Fighters' Relief and Pension Plan, as administered by the State Board of Volunteer Fire Fighters. 1.70.100 Payment of annual pension fees.
Each reserve officer electing to enroll in the State Volunteer Fire Fighters' Relief and Pension Plan shall pay an annual fee of $30.00. For such enrollees, the city shall pay the annual fee determined by the State Board pursuant to the latest actuarial valuation. [Ord. 4032 § 1, 1996.]
1.70.200 Payment for past service.
Each enrollee may elect to seek service credit under the Volunteer Fire Fighters' Relief and Pension Plan for service to the city prior to the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, provided he or she, within one year of the effective date, pays the annual fee plus one percent per month interest for each month of past service counted.
The city shall pay the actuarial cost, as determined by the State Board, provided any cost paid by the city for past service credit is reimbursed to the city by the enrollee. [Ord. 4032 § 1, 1996.]
