2.04.040 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to establish procedures for acceptance of money or property donated, devised, or bequeathed to the city of Ellensburg. [Ord. 3868 § 1, 1993.]
2.04.080 Unrestricted donations.
The finance director/treasurer may accept unrestricted donations in amounts or values up to and including $1,000 and credit such amounts to the general fund or fixed asset inventory as appropriate without specific approval of the city council. Unrestricted donations valued in excess of $1,000 shall be accepted only by resolution of the city council which shall specify the municipal purpose or purposes for which such donations may be used. 2.04.120 Restricted donations.
The finance director/treasurer may accept restricted donations in amounts or values up to and including $1,000 and credit these monetary amounts to the appropriate trust funds or restricted fixed asset inventory without further specific approval of the city council. Restricted donations valued in excess of $1,000 shall be accepted only by resolution of the city council. [Ord. 3868 § 1, 1993.]
2.04.160 Restricted donations – Establishing funds.
If an appropriate trust fund does not exist for the purpose for which a donation has been designated, the city council, by resolution, may establish one. The resolution should specify the uses for which the trust fund assets may be used and indicate how payments from it are authorized. [Ord. 3868 § 1, 1993.]
