3.02.120 Board of appeals – Created – Membership.

There is established a board of appeals for the administration of the building code of the city of Ellensburg as provided in this chapter. The board shall be comprised of five members appointed by the mayor, subject to confirmation by the city council, and shall hold office for two years except that two of the first appointees shall be for one-year terms. [Ord. 2385 § 1, 1958.]

3.02.130 Board of appeals – Function – Rules and regulations.

It is the function of the board to study and determine the suitability of alternate materials and types of construction as required in the building code of the city of Ellensburg and to provide for reasonable interpretations of the provisions of the code. The board shall adopt reasonable rules and regulations for conducting its investigations and shall render all decisions and findings in writing to the building official as provided in the building code with a duplicate copy to any appellant who has appeared before the board and may recommend to the city council such new legislation as is consistent therewith. [Ord. 2385 § 2, 1958.]

3.02.140 Moving buildings – Bond.

All persons, firms or corporations attempting to move any house or building upon or across any public street or alley, and before obtaining the permit required by the building code, shall furnish such bond, deposit and insurance for the protection of the city and the public, as is required by the city ordinances of persons engaging in the business of house moving. [Ord. 2399 § 3, 1959.]
