13.58.020 Organization.

There is established a board of adjustment (hereafter referred to as “board”). This board shall consist of five members, appointed by the mayor with the consent of the city council. One member shall be appointed for one year, one for two years, and so on to five years, subject to immediate termination by the unanimous vote of the city council for malpractice or nonperformance of duties. All members of the board shall serve without compensation. The board shall elect its own chairman and the city manager or his designate shall serve as technical advisor and secretary to the board. 13.58.040 Meetings – Record keeping.

The board shall adopt rules necessary to the conduct of its affairs and in keeping with the provisions of this title. Meetings shall be held at the call of the chairman and at such other times as the board may determine. The board shall keep minutes of its proceedings and shall keep records of its examinations and other official actions, all of which shall be a public record and shall be immediately filed with the secretary of the board. 13.58.060 Powers and duties.

The board shall have the power and duty to hear and decide variance appeals according to the procedure in Chapter 13.48 ECC. [Ord. 3685 § 1, 1990; Ord. 2810 § 30.06, 1970.]
