2.10.010 Regular council meeting – Frequency and days.
The council of the city of Entiat shall hold a regular meeting once a month. This regular meeting shall be held on the second Thursday of each month. (Ord. 535 § 1, 1998; Ord. 324 § 1, 1985)
2.10.020 Time of regular meetings.
All regular meetings of the city council of Entiat shall commence at 7:00 p.m. These meetings shall be held in the City Council Chambers unless otherwise posted. When a public hearing is scheduled on a regular council meeting date, the council may elect to set the time for that public hearing prior to the regular meeting time; provided, that the hearing time is given in the public notice of such public hearing. Public hearings shall be held near the beginning of regular meetings, if not set for another time, and the regular business of the meeting shall resume at the close of the public hearing. 2.10.030 Special meetings.
Special meetings of city council of Entiat may be held in addition to, but not in place of, regular meetings. The mayor or a majority of the council may call a special meeting by 24 hours’ written notice to the mayor and all other council members, stating the purpose of the meeting, as well as time and place. Action may be taken during special meetings only on those items specified as the purpose of the meeting in the written notice. In event of emergency threatening life or property in the community, the 24 hours’ notice requirement may be waived. No ordinance or resolution shall be passed, or contract let or entered into, or bill for the payment of money allowed at any special meeting unless public notice of such meeting has been given to the city’s newspaper of record. 2.10.040 Adjournment of meetings.
When the council wishes to adjourn a regular or special meeting to a later time, or when there is not a quorum sufficient to conduct the business before the council, the meeting may be adjourned to a later date and/or time. The date, time and place to which the meeting is adjourned shall be set at adjournment and posted on or near the door to the meeting room. (Ord. 535 § 4, 1998)
