9.05.010 Purpose.

This chapter is enacted to protect the safety of persons and properties traveling on the public highways and living within areas near urban centers. (Ord. 639 § 2, 2005; Ord. 603 § 1, 2003)

9.05.020 Discharging firearms – Unlawful.

It shall be unlawful for any person except law enforcement personnel engaged in the lawful discharge of their duties, to fire or discharge any cannon, gun, pistol, revolver, air rifle, air pistol, sling shot, or any firearm of any description within the Entiat city limits, or upon any property owned by the city of Entiat. 9.05.030 Specific restricted areas.

No person shall hunt or fire any type of firearm at any time on the west bank of the Columbia River within the city limits which hereinafter described are, to wit:

Northerly limits: Beginning at the southwest corner of Section 33, Township 26 North, Range 21 EWM, Chelan County, Washington; thence north along the west boundary of said section, a distance of 1,353 feet; thence east at the same bearing as the south section line of Section 33, a distance of 1,495 feet, more or less, to the high water line of the Columbia River and the true point of beginning.

Southerly limits: Beginning at the northeast corner of Section 17, Township 26 North, Range 21 EWM, Chelan County, Washington, thence south along the east boundary of said section, a distance of 3,350 feet; thence west at the same bearing as the north section line of said Section 17, a distance of 1,650 feet to the center of the channel of the Entiat River and the true point of beginning.

9.05.040 Violation – Penalty.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction and punishable by a fine as follows: the first offense – $100.00, second offense – $250.00, and third offense – $500.00. (Ord. 639 § 2, 2005; Ord. 603 § 3, 2003)
