REGULAR FIREMEN’S PENSION1

2.90.010 Firemen entitled to benefits.

On and after the effective date of Chapter 41.24 RCW, all firemen, including volunteer and fully paid, shall be entitled to the benefits of the death and disability and pension and retirement provisions provided under Chapter 41.24 RCW. (1958 Code § 1.76.010).

2.90.020 Enrollment – Clerk to be secretary-treasurer of board of trustees.

The city clerk shall be the secretary-treasurer of the board of trustees created by act and shall enroll each fireman under the death and disability provision of said law; and when requested in writing by a fireman shall enroll such fireman making the request under the pension and retirement provisions of said law. (1958 Code § 1.76.020).

2.90.030 Number of volunteer firemen.

The volunteer fire department personnel of the city shall not at any time exceed 25 firemen for each 1,000 of population or fraction thereof of the city’s population; provided, that at no time shall the membership of the fire department be less than 15 firemen. (1958 Code § 1.76.030).

2.90.040 Appropriation – Pension payments.

There is appropriated out of the unexpended cash balance of the city a sum sufficient to take care of all payments necessary under the terms of this chapter. (1958 Code § 1.76.040).
