BUILDING OFFICIAL

2.24.010 Position created.
There is created the position of the Building Official. The Building Official shall serve under the direction and authority of the Community Development Director.
A. The Community Development Director may assume the role of Building Official when designated by the Mayor or City Administrator. (Ord. 2178 § 1 (Att. 1), 2021)
2.24.020 Scope of authority.
Under the direction and authority of the Community Development Director, the Building Official shall be responsible for administering Chapter 15.04 FMC and shall coordinate on the development and maintenance of Chapters 15.05 and 15.12 FMC. The Building Official shall have the authority to act on:
A. Administrative interpretations of adopted International and Uniform Codes, specifically those codes established by the International Code Council as adopted by Chapter 15.04 FMC. (Ord. 2178 § 1 (Att. 1), 2021)
2.24.030 General powers and duties.
Under the direction and authority of the Community Development Director, the Building Official shall make final determinations on building construction and inspection permits and processes, and as necessary shall coordinate with other individuals and departments on matters associated with such construction and inspection.
