PROHIBITING THE AVOIDANCE OF AN INTERSECTION

10.18.010 Avoiding intersection unlawful.

A. It is unlawful for any person operating a motor vehicle on the highways of the city to turn such vehicle either to the right or to the left upon approaching or leaving intersections and to proceed across any private property or public property other than in a designated street right-of-way or easement for the purpose of avoiding the intersection or any traffic control device controlling the intersection, unless so directed by lawful authority.

B.  A violation of this section of the Fife Municipal Code is designated a traffic infraction, and is punishable by a fine of $101.00, such fine amount being inclusive of all mandatory statutory assessments as required by the state of Washington. (Ord. 1569-05 § 1, 2005; Ord. 1338 § 1, 1999).
