2.20.010 Created – Terms of office.

Pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 35.63 RCW, there is created a city planning commission consisting of seven members who shall be selected as follows: All seven members shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by a majority of the city council. In the first board appointed, the terms of office shall be one, two, three, four, five and six year terms respectively, beginning June 12, 1964. The seventh member of the city planning commission shall serve a term of six years commencing June 12, 1969. At the expiration of each of the terms as provided for, a successor shall be appointed for a term of six years. (Ord. 120 §§ 1, 2, 1969; Ord. 74, 1964).

2.20.020 Vacancies.

Vacancies occurring otherwise than through the expiration of terms shall be filled for the unexpired terms. Members may be removed by the mayor, with the approval of a majority of the council, after public hearing, for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office. The members shall be selected without respect to political affiliations and they shall serve without compensation. (Ord. 74, 1964).
