SPEED LIMITS

10.12.010 School zone.

It is under all conditions unlawful for any motor vehicle to be operated at speeds greater than twenty miles per hour in the school zone, being Schuster from Collins to Simcoe; Simcoe from Schuster to Roosevelt; Roosevelt from Simcoe to Collins; Brooks from Roosevelt to King; King from Brooks to Collins; Collins from Roosevelt to Schuster, at hours as determined by the chief of police.  (Ord. 1457 §2(part), 2015; Ord. 1390 §1 (part), 2009)

10.12.020 Designated streets.

The designated speed limit on the following street(s) shall be thirty miles per hour:

A.    Simcoe Drive from South Columbus Street to Highway 97.

B.    North Columbus from the bridge overpass for the Little Klickitat River to the north city limits.

C.    South Columbus from south city limits to Industrial Park Way.

D.    Bickleton Road from Broadway to the east city limits.

E.    Highway 142 (Broadway Street) from the east city limits to the west city limits.  (Ord. 1390 §1 (part), 2009)

10.12.030 Nondesignated streets.

It is under all conditions unlawful for any motor vehicle to be operated at any speeds greater than twenty-five miles per hour on all streets, or portions thereof, of the city for which a speed limit has not otherwise been established in this chapter.  (Ord. 1390 §1 (part), 2009)

10.12.040 Emergency vehicles.

The speed limits established in this chapter shall not apply to emergency vehicles as defined and exempted from operation of the State Motor Vehicle Code in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by RCW Title 46.  (Ord. 1390 §1 (part), 2009)
