The 2021 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code, as published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and adopted by the State Building Code Council in Chapter 51-56 WAC, excluding Chapter 1, “Administration;” Chapter 12, “Fuel Gas Piping;” Chapter 14, “Firestop Protection;” is adopted, together with Appendix Chapter A, “Recommended Rules for Sizing the Water Supply System;” Appendix Chapter B, “Explanatory Notes on Combination Waste and Vent Systems;” Appendix Chapter I, “Installation Standard for PEX Tubing Systems for Hot- and Cold-Water Distribution;” and Appendix Chapter M, “Peak Water Demand Calculator.”

Provided, that those requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code relating to venting and combustion air of fuel fired appliances as found in UPC Chapter 5 and those portions of the UPC addressing building sewers are not adopted.

Provided further, that the regulation of fats, oils, and grease shall be in accordance with Chapter 16.38 IMC, Fats, Oils and Grease Regulations.

Conflicts. Where a conflict exists between the provisions of Appendix I and the manufacturer's installation instructions, the conditions of the listing and the manufacturer's installation instructions shall apply.
