In order to carry out the provisions of Chapter 13, Laws of 1937 (Chapter 41.12 RCW), as amended, there is hereby created and established in the city of Lacey, a classified civil service for all full paid police officers of the city. Any police chief appointed after May 1, 2002, or any deputy chief appointed after May 16, 2019, is not covered by this section. (Ord. 1602 §1, 2021; Ord. 1178 §1, 2002; Ord. 57 §1, 1967).
