COMPENSATION FOR MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

2.60.010 Mayor – Established duties.

The regularly established duties of the mayor shall be as follows: The mayor shall perform the duties set forth in RCW 35A.12.100. (Ord. 956 § 1, 2011; Ord. 911, 2008)

2.60.015 Mayor – Base salary.

The annual salary of the mayor shall be $55,000 which shall be paid in equal monthly installments. The mayor is eligible to receive medical and dental insurance coverage the same as nonrepresented city employees, except that he or she shall be responsible for the cost of dependent coverage, and no other benefits, other than those to which he or she is entitled by state or federal law, for the performance of the regularly established duties of the mayor specified in Section 2.60.010. The mayor shall be reimbursed for expenses legally incurred in the conduct of his or her duties as mayor. (Ord. 1012 § 1, 2015; Ord. 959 § 1, 2011; Ord. 956 § 2, 2011; Ord. 911, 2008)

2.60.017 Adjusted salary and benefits in accordance with adopted work plan.

Repealed by Ord. 956.

2.60.020 City council members – Compensation.

Commencing on January 1, 1992, all persons elected to the city council in the 1991 general election or thereafter may be compensated for their service at a rate not to exceed $50.00 per month. (Ord. 593, 1991)

2.60.030 Vacated council position – Compensation.

Commencing on January 1, 1992, any person appointed to fill the remaining unexpired term of office of a vacated council position may be compensated at a rate of $50.00 per month. (Ord. 593, 1991)

2.60.040 Other city employee benefits.

No other city employee benefits shall be provided to the mayor or to council members except as permitted by law and provided for by city ordinance. (Ord. 593, 1991)

2.60.050 Sufficient funds to be budgeted for compensation.

Sufficient funds may be budgeted each year commencing with the 1992 budget appropriation to provide funds for said compensation. (Ord. 593, 1991)
