GENERAL PENALTY1

1.12.010 Designated.

A. Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the city is guilty of a misdemeanor. Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the city, any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the ordinances of the city shall be punished by a fine of no more than $250.00 or by imprisonment not to exceed 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

B. Each such person is guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of Leavenworth, Washington is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and he shall be punished accordingly.

C. In the event the Leavenworth municipal court imposes any penalties on infractions, criminal fines, costs, assessments, civil judgments, or forfeitures, which are unpaid 30 days after they are entered, then all such fines, costs, assessments, judgments and forfeitures shall be doubled. In accordance with RCW 3.02.045, the Leavenworth municipal court may enter into an agreement with one or more collection agencies for collection of outstanding penalties, fines, costs, assessments and forfeitures.
