3.60.010 Fund established and purpose.

There is hereby created and established the public safety fund. The purpose of the public safety fund is to segregate, budget, expend and account for moneys derived from the traffic safety camera enforcement program, pursuant to Chapter 11.04 LMC, Automated Traffic Safety Cameras. Expenditures from the public safety fund may only be used for the purpose of paying for the costs of the traffic safety camera enforcement program, including the city’s administrative and personnel costs for employees, contractors and professional services (such as traffic engineering services); provided, however, if there are surplus moneys in the fund, then the surplus moneys may be expended for costs associated with traffic safety programs, projects and activities unrelated to the automated traffic safety camera program.
