15.52.010 Changes in service.

(1) When new buildings are to be erected on the site of old ones, and it is desired to increase the size or change the location of the old service connection, or where a service connection to any premises is abandoned or its use no longer desired, the manager may cut out and remove such service connection, after which should a service connection be required to said premises, a new service shall be placed only upon application of the occupant and upon payment for a new tap in the regular manner.

(2) When service connection to any premises does not exceed three-fourths inch in size and the same does not come from a main adjacent to said premises, the manager shall, when a main is laid adjacent to said premises, after notifying the owner or tenant thereof, transfer the service connection to the new main without charge and at the same time cut out the old service connection. (Ord. 426 § 10, 1943).

15.52.020 Removal of meter for nonpayment of charges – Reinstallation.

When a meter has been removed from any premises for nonpayment of water charges, or for any other lawful or proper cause, it is unlawful for any person to again connect such premises with water until all arrearages for said premises shall have been paid and application made for reinstallation of meter and other cause or causes corrected to the satisfaction of the manager. (Ord. 426 § 11, 1943).

15.52.030 Interruption of service.

When water has been shut off by the city for any cause and is turned on again, or allowed or caused to be turned on by the owner, no remission of rates will be made on account of its having been shut off, and the manager may then shut off the water at the main or remove a portion of the service connection in the street, and shall charge the actual cost of cutting out and reinstating the water supply to the premises. (Ord. 426 § 12, 1943).

15.52.040 Discontinuance of service.

The city reserves the right at any time, without notice, to shut off the water supply for repairs, extensions, nonpayment of rates, or any other reason, and the city shall not be responsible nor liable for any damage such as bursting of boilers supplied by direct pressure; the breaking of any pipes or fixtures; stoppage or interruption of water supply or any other damage resulting from the shutting off of water.
