ENFORCEMENT BY BUILDING INSPECTOR

19.84.010 Duty of building inspector – Prerequisites for issuance of construction and repair permits.

It shall be the duty of the building inspector to see that this title is enforced, through the proper legal channels. He shall issue no permit for the construction, repair or alteration of any building or part thereof unless the plans, specifications and intended use of such building conform in all respects with the provisions of this title; provided, however, permits shall be issued for any existing structures or buildings, without compliance with the off-street parking provisions of this title, so long as no existing structure or building is sought to be enlarged or extended in ground floor area under said permit. 19.84.020 Permits for service facilities – Conditions precedent to issuance.

The building inspector shall not issue any permit for service facilities such as additional electrical connections to utility power lines, sanitary facilities, kitchen facilities, outside stairways or more than the usually required number of exits, which would exceed the service facilities normally desirable for use in any building and which would facilitate the conversion of any legal occupancy to another use not permitted by the provisions of this title. 19.84.030 Applications for building permits to be accompanied by plot plan – Other information – Building inspector to keep records of same.

All applications for building permits shall be accompanied by a plot plan, on a form to be prescribed by the city planning commission, showing the actual dimensions of the lot to be built upon, the size, use and location of all existing buildings and the building or buildings to be erected under authority of the permit applied for and such other information as may be necessary to show compliance with the provisions of this title. A record of all such applications and plot plans shall be kept in the office of the building inspector. (Ord. 1334, 1967).
