6.08.010 Restrictions on keeping livestock, poultry and other animals.

The keeping or raising of sheep, goats, horses, cattle, fowl, rabbits, birds, bees, reptiles or any other animals except domestic household pets or except when kept in a bona fide veterinary clinic is prohibited within the city limits, except as provided in this chapter.

A. Four or more dogs over the age of four months shall not be kept on any lot or premises unless the owner of such lot or premises shall previously have met all zoning requirements for a kennel and further shall have complied with all state and county statutes, rules and regulations relating to the operation of a kennel.

B. Up to six chickens may be kept pursuant to the provisions and requirements of Chapter 6.10.

C. Every person, firm and corporation convicted of any violation of this section is guilty of an infraction punishable by a fine not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars for each offense. It is not punishable by confinement.
