10.24.010 Definitions.

“Abandoned vehicle” and “abandoned automobile hulk” are defined as set forth in Chapter 10.04 MICC. (Ord. 451 § 1, 1978).

10.24.020 Impounding from streets.

Abandoned vehicles shall be impounded and removed from streets and ways open to the public as provided for in Chapter 10.22 MICC. (Ord. 451 § 1, 1978).

10.24.030 Statute adopted by reference – Removal of unauthorized vehicles from family residential property.

The following state statute is adopted by reference:

10.24.040 Disposition of abandoned vehicles.

Any vehicle impounded as provided for in MICC 10.24.020, or removed from private property as provided for in MICC 10.24.030, and left unclaimed for a period of 15 days, shall be deemed to be an abandoned vehicle. At the expiration of such 15-day period, such vehicle shall be deemed to be in the custody of the sheriff of King County, and the sheriff shall deliver the vehicle to a registered disposer who shall dispose of such vehicle in the manner provided for in MICC 10.22.080 (RCW 46.90.350 and 46.90.355); provided, that if such vehicle fulfills all of the requirements of an “abandoned junk motor vehicle” as defined in Chapter 10.04 MICC, it shall be disposed of as provided for in MICC 10.24.050 (RCW 46.90.375).
