4.22.010 Created – Objective.
There is hereby created a library board for the city of Mill Creek. The objective of the library board is to advise the city council on matters concerning the operations of the Mill Creek Library. (Ord. 2006-640 § 7. Formerly 2.30.010)
4.22.020 Membership – Term expiration.
A. Qualifications. The selection of library board members shall, insofar as possible, be made from individuals who have an interest in library matters as evidenced by training or experience.
B. Number of Members – Terms. The library board shall consist of five members. Terms shall expire on August 31st in the final year of each term. (Ord. 2006-640 § 7. Formerly 2.30.020)
4.22.030 Regular meetings.
The library board shall have a regular meeting on the first Monday of every even-numbered month (February, April, June, August, October, December) at 5:00 p.m. (Ord. 2008-673 § 1; Ord. 2006-640 § 7; Ord. 2001-507 § 1. Formerly 2.30.030)
4.22.040 Duties and responsibilities.
A. The library board shall act as an advisory board to the city council concerning the operations of the Mill Creek Library.
B. The library board shall give advisory opinions to the city council concerning the following matters:
1. The supervision, care and custody of all property of the library;
2. Work needed to be done to ensure that full and complete library services are being provided to the residents of the city;
3. All other matters as may be requested by the city council.
C. The library board may adopt such bylaws, rules and regulations as are necessary for the conduct of government of the library, which shall be provided to the city council. (Ord. 2006-640 § 7. Formerly 2.30.040)
